Steve Austria's plagiarism just the tip of the iceberg
Re: "Austria accused of plagiarism," Dayton Daily News, September 3, 2008. Steve Austria's habitual plagiarism should be the least of our worries. For years, just as Dave Hobson before him and no different from his Democrat partners in crime, he has survived politically by hijacking other people's ideas, money and hope for the future. Our real concern should be the blatant corruption, legal and otherwise, that sustains the two-party monopoly. Take for example the sweetheart deal struck between Mr. and Mrs. Austria, Dave Hobson, Greene County Commissioners, the Dayton Development Coalition and the Miami Valley military-industrial complex. In that 2003 BRAC Initiative Agreement our elected officials steered taxpayer dollars toward un-bid contracts awarded to a Beavercreek defense contractor and a Washington lobbying firm with very strong ties to Pennsylvania Democrat John Murtha, who is even more notorious for his earmarks than Dave Hobson.
The simple truth is that this earmark from Greene County taxpayers is no different in theory or practice than former California Congressman "Duke" Cunningham's double dealing that sent him to federal prison. The BRAC Initiative Agreement serves as poster boy for government corruption. You name it; money laundering, bid rigging, misappropriated funds, no value added for the taxpayer, and of course, the cover up - all this and more can be pinned on the BRAC Initiative Agreement. When this scandal breaks, it will be revealed to be so wide and so deep that Steve Austria's self-admitted plagiarism of the Labor Department web page will seem like a Sunday school picnic. If John McCain and Sarah Palin are sincere in their promise to rid the government of fraud, waste, abuse and corruption, Greene County and Ohio's 7th Congressional District would be a great place to start.
